An Iberian consortium with ISMRM Iberian Chapter members has been awarded 1M€ by La Caixa Foundation, CaixaResearch Health Call, to develop quantitative cardiac MRI methods to improve the diagnosis of coronary heart disease. 😻

The consortium is led by Teresa Correia (Iberian Chapter communications officer) from Centro de Ciências do Mar do Algarve (CCMAR) and includes Rita Nunes (Iberian Chapter Chair) from Associação do Instituto Superior Técnico para a Investigação e Desenvolvimento, Carlos Alberola-López from University of Valladolid and Borja Ibáñez from Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares Carlos III (CNIC). 👥 🤝

The 2022 CaixaResearch Health Call has awarded a total of 23 million euros to 33 biomedical research projects in Spain (20) and Portugal (13). The CaixaResearch Call for Proposals is organised in partnership with the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT), of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education of Portugal, which assigns 2.3 million euros to subsidise 3 of the 13 Portuguese projects selected this year. 🏆
